New City of Gainesville Engineering Design & Construction Manual - Adopted April 18, 2013 - Tuesday, April 23, 2013
The City Commission adopted the new City of Gainesville Engineering Design & Construction Manual on Thursday, April 18th. The new manual replaces the prior edition (adopted 1998) effective immediately. For your convenience, the new manual has been uploaded to the Public Works website.

Public Works Administration Building OpensPublic Works Administration Building Opens - Wednesday, December 29, 2010

The Public Works Administration Building was officially opened to the public on November 18.  The public art was created by Florida artist Teresa Thompson to reflect the essence of public works. She was able to utilize metals from surplus traffic control boxes that were being switched out in conjunction with the upgrade of the traffic management system.  The building includes a green roof as well as many other LEED criteria.

 
Pavement Management Program - Tuesday, June 29, 2010

FDOT Main Street reconstruction - Monday, September 14, 2009
The State of Florida Department of Transportation is resurfacing and reconstructing from Depot Avenue to Northwest 8th Avenue (1 mile), converting the four-lane roadway to two lanes with a center turn lane, bike lanes, on-street parking and mast arms at the signalized intersections. FDOT will also relocate and reconstruct all utilities. The cost of the project is $11.9 million. Please click here to read more ...
