EAR Process

 Evaluation & Appraisal Report

Prior to the June 2, 2011 Evaluation and Appraisal Report (EAR) was a process undertaken every ten years to set the stage for updating Gainesville’s Comprehensive Plan. The Comprehensive Plan describes the City’s long-term planning vision, covering such topics as future land use, capital projects, transportation, recreation, urban design, conservation, and housing. The EAR process entailed extensive community involvement to identify the major issues facing Gainesville and how the Comprehensive Plan can be updated to address these issues. The final report was adopted by the City Commission on October 21, 2010.

The EAR was determined sufficient by the Florida Department of Community Affairs on December 27, 2010.  Please click here to see the EAR Report.
