Welcome to the City of Gainesville Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs environmental science and cultural history curriculum enrichment guide!  You may be more familiar with programs from Morningside Nature Center (MNC).  That’s because MNC is the home base for much of the programming NOD offers.  This year we are excited to expand the quality programming you’ve experienced at Morningside to other Gainesville nature parks.  We’ve also added several new programs that we can’t wait to share with you and your class or group!

We are aware that there are more and more budget constraints that limit field trips.  Please keep in mind that we are more than happy to write a letter of support for a grant application or come talk to your parent teacher organization.  If transportation is an issue, perhaps one of our Outreach programs will meet your needs.  Also, Friends of Nature Parks, our non-profit support group, offers both program and bus* scholarships.

*Bus scholarships are available to schools in Alachua County only; all groups are eligible for program scholarships.

For program information please contact us at Morningside Nature Center main number 352-334-3326 or Sally Wazny at waznysa@cityofgainesville.org.
