Earth Academy Day Camp also provides fun volunteer opportunities for middle and high school students who are entering seventh to 12th grades with the City of Gainesville's Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Junior Naturalist (JN) Program.

There is limited space in the JN program. Junior Naturalists accepted into the program will volunteer with the Earth Academy Summer Day Camp and help prepare for and assist staff in leading activities, games, and crafts. Acceptance into the JN program will qualify students for service hours they may need in order to fulfill academic, community or other requirements. Youth will develop leadership skills and gain knowledge about Gainesville's natural communities and cultural history through the Junior Naturalist Program.
