Labor Agreements


Employee Relations' mission is to maintain effective employee and labor relations within the City.  This is accomplished by:

  • Working with management on labor problems, assuring timely and consistent City-wide interpretation, application and monitoring of all policies and procedures, labor agreements, discipline, grievances, terminations, and other applications of local, state and federal laws.
  • Consult with management to resolve problems and prepare, review and approve all associated documentation in accordance with a mutually agreed upon timeline.
  • Acting as a management liaison with the Office of the City Attorney for all employee relations issues.
  • Developing strategies to comply with new labor agreement requirements and providing timely communication and training to management on all pertinent aspects of employee relations, including, but not limited to FMLA, FLSA, drug-free workplace, and violence avoidance.
