Homeownership Programs

The City of Gainesville Homeownership Programs are designed to increase homeownership opportunities for very low, low and moderate income residents of the City by providing: 1) downpayment assistance to first time homebuyers and 2) due on sale loans to prevent families from losing there homes through foreclosure.

Please double click on the Registration Form link below to register for the Downpayment Assistance Workshop, complete the form, bring it to the office, mail it or email it to us.  After receipt of your completed registration form, you will be registered for the next available workshop.  There is no charge for our DPA workshop.  A letter will be mailed with the details of the workshop or you will receive an email with the details.

Mortgage Foreclosure Intervention:  The Housing & Community Development Division is currently not accepting applications for Mortgage Foreclosure Intervention due to a application backlog.  The Division will post a notice when we start taking applications.

The Housing & Community Development Division (HCD) offers a Credit Repair Workshop and Counseling through our Credit Repair Program.  HCD is a HUD certified agency, there is no charge for the workshop or counseling.  Click the link below for information about the Credit Repair Program.
