The Gainesville Code Enforcement Board has jurisdiction to hear and decide cases filed by the City's Code Enforcement Officers regarding violations of the City of Gainesville Code of Ordinances. To speak to a Code Enforcement Officer about your specific case, you may call (352) 334-5030.
The Board shall be composed of:
- Seven members appointed by the commission
- Each member of the board shall be a resident of the city
- Each member serves a term of three years
The commission may appoint up to two alternate members for each board member to serve on the board in the absence of board members. The membership of each enforcement board shall, whenever possible, include:
- An architect
- A business person
- An engineer
- A general contractor
- A Realtor
- A subcontractor.
Members will be registered, licensed, and/or certified in their profession as designated by Section 2-379.
